Alma's Mexican Cuisine Information

Alma's Mexican Cuisine is a cozy spot tucked in the heart of Astoria, Oregon, offering a flavorful escape into traditional Mexican fare. Located at 433 13th St, this charming diner brings a delightful slice of Mexico to the Pacific Northwest, and it has become a local favorite for anyone craving authentic, homey meals.

As soon as you step inside, the inviting atmosphere welcomes you like an old friend. The colorful decor, with its vibrant hues and rustic touches, sets the stage for a warm dining experience. Whether you're dining in with friends or grabbing a quick bite, the friendly staff makes sure you're comfortable and well-cared for throughout your meal.

The menu at Alma's Mexican Cuisine is a celebration of classic Mexican dishes with a few personal twists. From the moment you glance at the menu, you’ll notice the rich variety of options, from sizzling fajitas to flavorful tacos. Their carne asada is a standout-perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, it's tender and full of that smoky char that makes this dish so irresistible. If you're in the mood for something comforting, the enchiladas are a great choice. They come loaded with a delicious sauce that adds just the right amount of heat without overpowering the dish.

Vegetarians will also find a lot to love here, with options like their veggie burrito, which is generously stuffed with fresh ingredients and served with a side of perfectly seasoned rice. The guacamole is made fresh and has just the right balance of creamy and tangy flavors, making it the perfect accompaniment to any meal.

One of the highlights at Alma’s is the homemade tortillas. These are not your average tortillas; they are soft, warm, and melt in your mouth, adding a touch of authenticity to every bite. Pair them with a margarita, and you're in for a treat. The drinks menu features a nice selection of tequila-based cocktails, but don’t miss their house margarita-it’s a fan favorite.

What truly sets Alma's apart, though, is the genuine care they put into every dish. The ingredients are fresh, and each plate is prepared with love. Whether you’re visiting for a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner, you’ll leave satisfied, not only with the food but with the overall experience.

For those living in or visiting Astoria, Alma's Mexican Cuisine is the perfect spot to enjoy comforting Mexican flavors with a touch of local flair. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy quality food in a warm, welcoming environment.

What People's Say About Place

Alma's is a regular stop for us, usually ordering something every week or two. I am obsessed with the burritos because they are full of fresh, delicious ingredients. Plus, they are enormous! The tamales are also excellent. For the first time last week, my husband ordered the torta. It was incredible! We always receive excellent customer service. The outdoor seating is perfect for a sunny Astoria day.

We got tamales to go! This is a good truck attached to the Buoy Beer Taproom. Great vibe. There are 3 other food trucks

If you haven't eaten here and you are visiting or live here you need to try this gem out! I ate here for the second time and I was told I need to try Alma’s tamales and man they weren't joking! She offers a red sauce pork tamale, and green sauce chicken tamale, both were good but the green one, its hard to find the words to describe. Let me make an attempt. These green sauce chicken tamales were uhhhhmazing. They were saucy. They were exquisite. My tastebuds fell in love. After my meal I went back and bought 15 more tamales so I could freeze some to savor in those times of need when I need a little pick me up. She told me that she doesn't sell to many of the tamales and I told her this just wouldn’t do. I told her I was going to write a review so more people could experience the fantasticness of Alma’s tamales. I really did go and stock up on theme. Proof in the pic. This place is a treasure! I’ll tell you this now. You. Are. Welcome. :)

Tried this place for the first time and was really good. Alma was super nice! It's located next to a brewery and there's ample seating outside.

Delish food while you drink a cold beer. Woman owned and operated. I ordered the potato flautas and corn, my friend burrito and chips and salsa. Happy for the veggie options. Only thing I would change would be fresh, homemade chips, but the salsa was delish. I would eat there again when visiting Astoria. Love the vibe. :)

What an awesome surprise! We ordered the carne asada nachos, menudo, and I had to try the Al pastor and birria as well. The menudo is on point. The tacos were on homemade tortillas. The Al pastor was perfectly cooked and marinated. Will definitely be going back next time we’re in Astoria to try more of the menu.

Super friendly folks! I got the small nachos with chicken, and they were delicious! Definitely recommend!
